Sasha Banks Returns To WWE On Raw, Turns Heel In A Brutal Assault On Natalya And Becky Lynch
Sasha Banks picked a peculiar time to make her long-awaited return to WWE when she interrupted a Natalya promo while the Natalya was commemorating the one-year anniversary since her father’s death.
Banks initially appeared to be empathizing with Natalya, before a sudden heel turn in her first WWE appearance in over four months.
After mauling Natalya, Banks removed her signature purple wig to reveal a new blue hair color that was a departure from a new blonde hairstyle she revealed on Instagram.
Banks was surprisingly well-received by the Toronto crowd, many of whom chanted “thank you Sasha” in Natalya’s home country.
This same Toronto fanbase heavily booed Bayley in what seemed to be residual anger toward Banks, who infamously disappeared from WWE programming following a WrestleMania loss to The IIconics.
Banks’ extended absence was filled with cryptic tweets on social media, many of which were in support of WWE’s competition, as Banks mulled her next chapter in WWE.
That next chapter came Monday night on Raw as the newly minted heel not only attacked Natalya, but later brutally assaulted Becky Lynch—who came to Natalya’s rescue—with a steel chair.
Through it all, Banks was treated like a conquering hero in a heel turn that almost makes too much sense.
Banks will continue to be shrouded in controversy after her sudden sabbatical from WWE.
But now that she’s back, every ounce of frustration against WWE and its fanbase—both of whom she has been known to antagonize—can be exploited in art-imitating-life promos.
Sasha Banks has instantly become the hottest WWE Superstar on the entire roster.
More importantly, her contract will resume as her next career move will become even more of a story with yet another interesting chapter in Banks’ own odyssey unfolds.
